Presidential Initiatives

The 100 Psychologists Rising is an empowering campaign deeply rooted in the transformative principles of movement work. Our goal is to forge a global alliance of psychologists, leveraging their local and psychological expertise to amplify the importance of wellness. We aspire to co-create pathways for access to wellness and emphasize the significance of regional cultural approaches in fostering well-being in diverse contexts.

Addressing a youth mental health crisis, my platform will engage young people through virtual and in-person events in 2026, fostering their leadership and addressing issues like the impact of social media, suicidality risks, and violence in schools, especially among targeted groups.

The Work and Wellness initiative aims to leverage the 2023 Work In America Survey results and psychological science to underscore the significance of workplace well-being. As a psychologist who focuses on the work experiences of Black women in leadership and work, I find valuable insights into their effective and ethical strategies for preserving wellness in challenging environments, in a range of settings — health, education, consulting, military, higher education, and more. These insights guide us in navigating similar situations and play a pivotal role in transforming workplace cultures to promote WELLNESS For ALL.

More Wendi4APA in Action

We had the honor of sitting down with Carter, an 8-year-old, to discuss the importance of youth mental health. In our discussion, Carter shared some incredible insights into how he takes care of his own mental well-being.

Student Leader Pooja Mamidanna joined Dr. Wendi Williams in conversation as they explored Dr. Wendi’s inspiring journey into psychology, delved into her visionary platform of ‘Radically Well Together,’ and discussed how she plans to empower student voices within the APA and beyond! Our dear students, we kindly urge you to attend this event and come with your questions for Dr. Wendi. Please encourage and exercise your right to vote and be part of the radical change we need in our APA presidential leadership.

We were honored to host Dr. Melba Vasquez and Dr. Rosie Phillips Davis as they shared insights on diverse leadership in the American Psychological Association. As a candidate for APA president-elect, I'm excited for you to now be able to engage with trailblazers who have reshaped our field.
